Top 10 Films Of My Life

In honor of the Oscars. This is a list of my top 10 favorite movies since 1983. Compiled and judged by ME. Enjoy!

10. The Hangover. 2009 Todd Phillips. Best comedy I have seen.

9. Inception. 2010 Christopher Nolan. Blow your mind plot, with arguably DiCaprio's best performance, along with an amazing performance by Marion Cotillard.

8. The Silence of the Lambs. 1991 Johnathan Demme. Foster and Hopkins create a perfect storm in this one, their chemistry is amazing. Gives me chills just thinking about this one.

7. The Lion King. 1994 Roger Allers. Probably the best story of any movie you will see on this list. The only animated movie I have ever fought back tears for. This is a brilliant movie!

6. The Departed. 2006 Martin Scorsese. One of my personal favorites. Fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

5. Saving Private Ryan. 1998 Steven Spielberg. Amazing story, amazing dircetor, amazing performances by the entire cast. Enough said.

4. Primal Fear. 1996 Gregory Hoblit. This movie has the best performance of any on the list. Edward Norton used this role to catapult into superstardom. First movie that left me up all night thinking...

3. The Fighter. 2010 David Russell. Considering my love for boxing, and how extremely relatable this film is to society, it is no surprise I have this film rated this high.

2. V For Vendetta.2006 James McTeigue. I can't even explain why I love this movie so much. The big government message it sends is really amazing. This movie does the best job of conveying it's message of any I have ever seen. Remarkable!

1. Good Will Hunting. 1997 Gus Van Sant. This was never in jeopardy. Far and away the best movie I have ever seen, of any time period. If you know me, then you know this is the way I feel. This movie is perfection. From the Soundtrack to each performance. I have seen this movie well over 100 times start to finish, I can quote any line from it. This is the ultimate do not judge a book by it's cover message. PERFECTION!!!

Honorable Mentions: Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, L.A. Confidential, Titanic, Fight Club, Back to the Future, Man on Fire, Cindarella Man, Bandits, Oceans 11, A Time to Kill, The Pursuit of Happyness, The Dark Knight, Wedding Crashers

Super Bowl Prediction

I am taking McCarthy, and the pack. I am a firm believer that preparation is a far more valuable tool than motivation. While I am a Mike Tomlin fan, I have never been able to appreciate the Steelers. Green bay is coming in as the "hot" team and in recent years that has made a huge difference i.e. Saints, Giants. I am really just interested in a good injury free game.

Green Bay 27. Pittsburgh 24.

Intro (Mayweather vs Mosley)

Welcome to my brand new blog. I am new to the blogging community, so hopefully anyone who reads this will have more patience than I do. My intention (in other words what will absolutely not happen) is to provide you with a very small level of insight into the wide world of sports entertainment as I know it. I expect that this will primarily include, but is not limited to: boxing, NFL, SEC and other major college football programs, and the PGA. I am sure I will offer up info on the other big events that we all know and follow ie. the Olympics, World Cup, March Madness. Hopefully, I will be able to provide some perspectives and predictions that at the very least you will find intriguing. I also hope to integrate some humor into the blog. Of course, this is all going to be based on my personal bias (hence the title), so feel free to come by and gloat whenever my predictions crumble to the ground (kind of like the auto industry in recent years).

I know what you're thinking, great another guy who watches Sports Center every other morning thinks he knows enough about sports to start a blog. Well this is my anniversary weekend and we went out the night before so I would not miss out on the Mayweather vs Mosley fight last night (how many of you guys can get away with that). My wife can name all 32 NFL teams. Not impressed? Well you should be, because that is not easy. I am willing to bet 75% of American males cannot name all of the teams in the NFL, and my wife does it for fun.
Mayweather vs Mosley Thoughts
This fight went pretty much just how everyone with any boxing knowledge expected. I had Mayweather winning 119-109, only losing the second round. Mayweather as we all knew had youth, athleticism, experience, and ring generalship on his side. He landed the right hand at will throughout the night. The only reason this fight went the distance is because Floyd showed a great amount of respect to Shane and never showed any desire to go for the KO. He seemed completely satisfied with the unanimous decision that he knew was coming.

The only suprise of the night was that Floyd decided to stand and trade with Mosley in the early rounds, and after getting hit perhaps as hard as he has ever been hit in the second round, and nearly hitting the canvas Floyd decided to get back to boxing a typical Mayweather fight with minimal risks, to shut out Shane Mosley who looked like a shell of his former self. By the 8th round I was hoping Chris Brown (who "sang" the national anthem) was going to lace up the gloves and get in the ring with Money Mayweather. I hear that Brown has a vicious right cross....
